Medical Disclaimer

The information on this website is general health education. It is not medical advice for your individual situation.

In an emergency, do not use this website

If you are vomiting blood, passing black tarry stools, have severe or worsening abdominal pain, are deeply jaundiced with fever, or are confused or unusually drowsy, seek emergency medical care immediately. Call the hospital on (phone), or go to the nearest hospital equipped for emergency care. Do not wait for a reply to a website enquiry or message.

General information only

The content on this website — including descriptions of conditions, tests, procedures, preparation instructions and patient education articles — is provided as general information for the public. It describes common practice, but it cannot account for your age, other illnesses, current medicines, allergies, previous surgery or the specific findings in your case.

It is therefore not:

  • a diagnosis of your condition;
  • a personal treatment plan or prescription;
  • a recommendation to start, stop or change any medicine;
  • a substitute for consultation, examination and investigation by a qualified doctor.

No doctor–patient relationship

Reading this website, sending an appointment request, calling the hospital, or exchanging messages on WhatsApp does not by itself create a doctor–patient relationship. That relationship begins when a clinician has assessed you in person and accepted you as a patient.

Appointment requests are not confirmed appointments

Any form, WhatsApp message or email through this website is an enquiry. It becomes a confirmed appointment only when the hospital contacts you and confirms the date and time. Do not travel long distances, stop medicines or make other arrangements on the basis of an unconfirmed request.

Procedure descriptions

Descriptions of endoscopy, colonoscopy, ERCP, EUS, FibroScan and other procedures on this website are simplified summaries. Every procedure carries potential benefits and potential risks, both general and specific to the individual. Your endoscopist will explain the relevant risks and alternatives, and will obtain your consent before the procedure. If something in these pages differs from what you are told in person, the information given to you during your consultation applies.

No guarantees of outcome

This website does not claim, imply or guarantee any particular result, cure, success rate or duration of benefit. Medical outcomes vary between individuals. Where figures such as procedure experience are quoted, such as the number of endoscopic procedures performed by the lead specialist, they describe experience and exposure only — not a promised outcome.

Accuracy, currency and review

Clinical content is written to be medically accurate, is reviewed by the treating clinician, and is dated. Medicine evolves, and guidance can change. Content may be updated without notice. If you notice something on this site that appears incorrect or out of date, please tell us through the contact page.

Third-party links and maps

Where this site links to external resources or embeds a map, those services are operated by third parties and are governed by their own terms and privacy practices. We are not responsible for their content or availability.

Professional standards

Nothing on this website is intended to replace the professional judgement of a qualified clinician, or to override the standards of medical practice, medical registration requirements or applicable law.
