About Dr Rahul Talele

Dr Rahul Talele is a Consultant Gastroenterologist, Hepatologist and Advanced Endoscopist, and the founder and lead specialist at GastroCare Hospital. His practice covers the full range of digestive and liver disease — from common complaints such as acidity, irritable bowel syndrome and fatty liver, through to complex pancreaticobiliary disease requiring ERCP or endoscopic ultrasound.

Education and qualifications

• MBBS — BJ Medical College, Pune.
• MD in Internal Medicine — postgraduate training in general internal medicine.
• DNB in Gastroenterology — super-specialty training in gastroenterology.

Clinical training and experience

Dr Talele spent five years in training and clinical practice at the Asian Institute of Gastroenterology, Hyderabad — one of the largest dedicated gastroenterology institutions in India. That period provided concentrated exposure to high-volume diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, and to the management of liver disease, inflammatory bowel disease and pancreaticobiliary disorders.

During this time he received structured training in:

• Diagnostic and therapeutic upper GI endoscopy and colonoscopy, including biopsy, polypectomy and haemostasis.
• ERCP — sphincterotomy, stone extraction, biliary and pancreatic stenting, and management of bile duct strictures.
• Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) — diagnostic assessment and staging of pancreaticobiliary lesions, including fine-needle sampling where indicated.
• Advanced endoscopy techniques, including third-space endoscopy procedures.
• Management of gastrointestinal bleeding, including variceal band ligation and glue injection.
